Art Commission Policy
1. Agreement and Deposit
- Upon acceptance of the project, the client agrees to pay a 30% non-refundable deposit to secure the artist’s services.
- The deposit serves as a commitment from the client and will be deducted from the final invoice.
- Both the artist and client must sign an agreement outlining the project scope, deadlines, and terms of payment.
2. Submission of Reference Material
- The client must provide clear, high-quality photographs or reference images that they wish the artist to interpret. These images will form the basis for the commissioned artwork.
- If no image is provided or the artist is requested to create an original concept, an additional fee may apply, and the timeline may be adjusted.
3. Artistic Interpretation
- The artist retains full creative control over the interpretation of the reference photo(s). The client acknowledges that the final artwork may differ from the photograph in artistic style, colour choices, and composition.
- Any major changes or revisions outside the agreed style or scope of work may incur additional charges.
4. Timeline
- The artist will provide an estimated timeline for completion based on the project’s complexity and size.
- The client will be informed of key milestones (e.g., initial sketches, mid-progress updates). These updates may be sent via email or another agreed communication method.
- Any delays in receiving feedback from the client may affect the overall timeline.
6. Final Payment and Delivery
- Upon completion of the artwork, the client will be provided with images of the final piece for approval.
- Once approved, the client must pay the remaining 70% balance before delivery or shipment of the artwork.
- Shipping fees or delivery charges will be the responsibility of the client unless otherwise agreed.
7. Copyright and Usage Rights
- The artist retains the copyright to all commissioned artwork unless explicitly transferred in writing.
- The client is granted the right to display the commissioned piece in their home or business, but reproduction, sale, or redistribution of the artwork is prohibited without the artist’s permission.
- The artist reserves the right to display images of the commissioned artwork in their portfolio, on social media, and for promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed.
- The artist will only produce prints if permission granted by client.
8. Cancellation Policy
- If the client chooses to cancel the commission after work has begun, the 30% deposit will not be refunded.
- If the artist is unable to complete the work due to unforeseen circumstances, a full refund, including the deposit, will be provided, or the project may be rescheduled.
9. Client Satisfaction
- The artist aims to provide a high-quality and unique interpretation of the client’s vision. Open communication is encouraged throughout the process to ensure satisfaction with the final result.
